Embracing a tonal narrative 110%, from promo to agent reveal —

The first event of the 2022 season was our chance to build off the learnings of our first year, and set a new tone for creative. Coincidentally, a new agent launch was falling in the same window... Seeing the opportunity, we leaped to build a thematic around their nightmare fueled power fantasy. Become the Nightmare was the result. A highly divisive campaign that sequestered itself deep into the minds of the VCT faithful as that time we went full-on horror.

For our promo film creative, we looked at nightmare scenarios that could occur in gameplay, and brought them to life through horror-ridden metaphors. • The pressure of expectations • Lack of info on your opponent • Time running out Paired with our live action creative, where we dug deep on an icelandic horror set, the pros brought to life the campaign in ways we could've only imagined to be possible. Ultimately the creative set a new standard for the VCT and how we can co-launch moments both for the sport and game.
